Tri-Met Bus Driver Stabbed Black African Negro Wanted By Portland Police breaking news

Portland Police officers searching the Lents neighborhood last night did not locate the suspect involved in stabbing a TriMet bus operator, identified as 35-year-old Brian Nixon.

This evening, Saturday April 20, 2013, at approximately 11:00 p.m., Portland Police officers assigned to East Precinct responded to the report of a stabbing at Southeast 92nd Avenue and Flavel Street.

As officers were enroute they learned that the victim was a TriMet bus operator and that the suspect ran into the neighborhood after the stabbing.

Officers arrived in the area and contacted the victim, an adult male, who told police that he was using the portable restroom for TriMet when he heard banging on the door. The victim opened the door and was stabbed in leg by another man who demanded to use the restroom. After the stabbing, the suspect ran away into the neighborhood.

The victim was transported to a Portland hospital for treatment to a non-life-threatening stab wound.

Officers are continuing to search the neighborhood for the suspect, who is described as an African American male in his 30s, 5'9" tall, wearing a black and red coat, brown pants, and a stocking cap. The suspect is also described as having a beard and possibly a transient.
No additional information will be released this evening and there does not appear to be any immediate danger to the neighborhood.
