Portland Police Seize 42 Kilos of Cocaine During Traffic Stop - One Person Arrested (Photo)

On Friday December 5, 2014, at approximately 7:00 a.m., Portland Police officers stopped a 2013 Nissan Quest mini-van on northbound I-205 at Northeast Airport Way.
Officers received consent to search the vehicle from the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, 51-year-old Kevin Maurice Landers who is an American citizen but resides in British Columbia, Canada.
Drugs and Vice Division Officer Scott Groshong and his drug-sniffing K-9 "Nikko" responded and searched the vehicle.
Inside the vehicle, Nikko was alerted to the odor of narcotics and officers found a hidden compartment in the floor containing four duffel bags. Inside the four duffel bags officers located 42 kilograms of cocaine.
Investigators believe the cocaine was destined for Canada.
Landers was arrested and booked into the Multnomah County Jail on charges of Delivery and Possession of Cocaine.
