Hillsboro Police Search For Suspected Impaired Driver
Hillsboro Police Dept. - 12/13/14
On 12/13/14 at 8:40 AM Hillsboro police patrol officers were alerted to a possible DUI driver by a motorist in the area of NE Arrington Rd and Cornell. The witness reported that a man
driving a Buick 4-dr was driving very erratically in the area. A Hillsboro police patrol officer observed the vehicle in that area driving all over the road and disregarding traffic control devices.

The officer followed the Buick and observed the driver failing to stop at traffic lights, stop signs and driving recklessly with no regard for safety. The driver
failed to yield to the officer and stop. As the officer attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver drove at the patrol car and clipped the front right corner of the patrol causing minor damage. The officer continued to attempt to stop the car as it drove approx three miles through SE Hillsboro where it eventually came to a dead end residential street near SE Tamango St and SE Wenlock St. The suspect drove into a field in the area and then fled on foot.

Officers initiated a K-9 track, searching for the suspect with negative results.

The suspect is described as a male Hispanic, mid 30's, 5' 8" tall, 160 lbs, dark hair, wearing dark jeans and a dark jacket. The suspect remains at large and faces numerous driving charges, reckless endangering, hit and run, escape and
elude.

No persons were injured during this incident.
