Gotta say -its not a good career move for a black male to get arrested on purpose at least twice in one month, just to stay in a public park2011-12/3056/50102/Cameron_Scott_Whitten_20.jpgToday, Friday December 16, 2011, at 1:21 p.m., Portland Police arrested one man during a demonstration at Mill Ends Park.

20-year-old Cameron Scott Whitten was arrested at Southwest Naito Boulevard and Taylor after refusing to get of the street and onto the sidewalk. Whitten was part of a group of people demonstrating in Mill Ends Park and Whitten refused to get out of the street after being given numerous warnings to get onto the sidewalk.

Officers were talking with Whitten and asked him to walk to the patrol car for the purposes of giving him a citation but Whitten slumped to the ground and was handcuffed by police and had to be carried by officers to the patrol car.

Whitten was arrested for Interfering with a Police Officer and booked into the Multnomah County Jail.

Mill Ends Park is located at Southwest Naito Parkway and Taylor Street and according to the Guinness Book of World Records is the smallest park in the world, is 2 feet across with a total area of 452 square inches.
