On December 11, 2011 at approximately 6 p.m. Canby Police and Canby Fire personnel responded to a report of an explosion in the 500 block of NE 22nd Avenue.
The explosion resulted in the death of a 31 year old male who has been identified as Ivan Velasco Rodriguez. The cause of death according to the Clackamas County Medical Examiner was head trauma as a result of the explosion.
Ivan Velasco Rodriguez lived in the area and was married with children.
The investigation continues with the assistance of the Clackamas County Major Crimes Team, the Metropolitan Explosive Disposal Unit and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms. The cause of the explosion has yet to be determined.
As new information is learned we will make an attempt to release more information.
