Portland Police Bureau Traffic Investigators arrested 20-year-old LaShai Antoinette Williams in connection with a fatal crash that occurred early Sunday morning in Southeast Portland.

Williams was charged with Manslaughter in the Second Degree, Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants (DUII) and Reckless Driving.
Investigators determined that Williams was driving westbound on Southeast Stark Street when she ran a red light and struck another vehicle which was eastbound on Stark, making a northbound turn (left) onto 122nd Avenue with a green light.
Two people were in the vehicle struck by Williams. The driver was a 28-year-old male and the passenger was a 28-year-old female. The female passenger died at the scene (not the driver as initially reported). The driver was transported to a Portland hospital where he was treated for traumatic but not life-threatening injuries. Their names will be released on Monday April 29.

Williams was booked into the Multnomah County Jail and will be arraigned on Monday April 29, 2013.
