Garcia-Cisneros, on trial in the fatal crash that killed two young girls in Forest Grove,
The defendant, 19, is charged in Washington County Circuit Court with two counts of felony hit and run. The girls who died were stepsisters Anna Dieter-Eckerdt and Abigail Robinson, ages 6 and 11.
The three teens had gone to Sonic for fast food before drove her boyfriend Mario Echeverria’s Pathfinder back home.
As she drove down Main Street, nearing her family’s duplex, they spotted heaps of leaves raked near the curb for leaf pick-up.
Her younger brother, Mario Garcia-Cisneros, told her to drive through one – the biggest pile they’d seen that night.
As the Pathfinder veered into the leaves, the teens testified, the SUV’s front right tire impacted something.
“We just felt a bump,” Echeverria testified. “We didn’t think it had to be people.”
They figured they’d hit a log or a rock, he said.
Cinthya Garcia-Cisneros continued on, turned at the next block and parked outside her family’s home.
