After you call your Representative today (see , please take to the internet and call on others to call their representatives with a simple message: Please block Obama's next executive amnesty.
The Capitol Switchboard number is: 202 224 3121.
Report: House GOP bill would allow Obama to expand his previous executive amnesty -- AND open the door to a conference with the Senate's immigration amnesty and expansion bill, S. 744.
According to Roll Call - a Capitol Hill newspaper - House Republican leadership hopes to vote on a bill this week that includes changes to immigration law. That conceivably opens the door for Senate Majority Leader Reid to conference in parts or all of the McCain/Schumer/Rubio amnesty.
Pro-amnesty advocates are thrilled. Frank Sharry of America's Voice tweeted this morning: House GOP wants to change #immigration policy on border bill. We do, too: CIR {comprehensive immigration reform}. Look forward to Senate Dems demanding CIR in conference.
As Roy alerted this morning, Sen. McCain's immigration aide is said to be writing the House legislation. The Fix Is In!
Roll Call also reports that sources have confirmed that the Republican Leadership's preferred bill will NOT contain any provisions to prevent President Obama from expanding his Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program to adults who are living in the U.S. illegally as well.
The Los Angeles Times reports that the White House is pursuing an executive amnesty expansion that would grant work permits to up to 5 million illegal aliens.
And you thought the incentives to surge the border were strong before....
....and all this with 18 million Americans unable to find full-time jobs; and the average household now worth one-third less than a decade ago; and all of the net job gains since 2000 going to workers who immigrated to the U.S.....
Grassroots pressure this week can make a difference
The House bill is not assured passage. Rep. Mo Brooks said yesterday:
"...there are still a good number of us {in Congress} fighting for American sovereignty and the average American family. America needs strong leadership on the issue of border security and American sovereignty, but we're just not getting it from the White House or the leadership of the House or the Senate. To the contrary, they're all working against us."
Rep. Brooks said he feared the Republican leadership was too beholden to cheap-labor special interests to stand up to President Obama on amnesty.
We need calls going into Congress to demonstrate that the American people are with those in Congress who are standing up against the cheap labor lobby and for American workers and taxpayers.
America to Congress: Stop Obama's Next Executive Amnesty!
