Portland Police Arrest 2 Men After Sexual Assault in Southwest Portland

On Saturday November 5, 2011, at 12:38 a.m., Portland Police officers assigned to Central Precinct responded to assist Portland State University Public Safety at Southwest 10th Avenue and Market Street on a possible sexual assault investigation.

Officers arrived and learned that PSU Public Safety came across two men sexually assaulting a woman on the ground. PSU Public Safety was able to detain both suspects and await Portland Police officers to arrive to assist in the investigation.

The 43-year-old female victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment. She was not physically injured during the assault.

Detectives from the Portland Police Bureau's Sex Crimes Unit responded to investigate the assault and learned that both men were sexually assaulting her at the same time. The victim, who had been drinking, did not know the suspects and the assault appears to be a crime of opportunity.

30-year-old Leslie Lee Thornton Jr. was arrested and charged with Rape in the First Degree, Sodomy in the First Degree and Sex Abuse in the First Degree and booked into the Multnomah County Jail.

21-year-old Timothy Nathaniel Hogue was arrested and charged with Rape in the First Degree and booked into the Multnomah County Jail.
