On November 4, officers responded to the report of a fight at Southwest 3rd Avenue and Salmon Street. When officers arrived, the participants had been separated. Several people in the park wanted one of the participants removed but nobody provided details of the fight to officers and refused to press charges. During the afternoon, there were several other fights reported to officers but no victims or witnesses came forward to cooperate with police.
Officers arrested 20-year-old Chad Robinson for Criminal Trespass in the Second Degree. Robinson was excluded from the park on November 3 after officers saw him smoking marijuana in the park.
Officers also have noticed sanitary condition continuing to decline in the encampments.
Today, November 5, officers were contacted at Southwest 3rd Avenue and Salmon Street by a 27-year-old male who was vomiting blood and told officers that he had been eating methamphetamine while staying in the encampments. Medical personnel responded to treat the man for a drug overdose.
Occupy Portland supporters marched to several banks and credit unions during the morning hours but officers reported no problems.
