Update: Victim's Name Released - Fatal Crash Highway 97 near Chiloquin Oregon State Police - 08/18/13 2013-08/1002/66851/033.JPG http://www.flashalertnewswire.net/images/news/2013-08/1002/66851/thumb_033.JPGA single vehicle roll over occurred on Highway 97 near Chiloquin Saturday morning resulting in the death of a fifteen-year old female juvenile. Six other occupants in the vehicle were treated for minor injuries. Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers from the Klamath Falls Area Command are continuing the investigation. The victim's name is released in this update. On August 17, 2013 at approximately 5:45 a.m., a Jeep Cherokee driven by OLGA RIVERA-CHAVEZ, age 44, from Sunnyside, Washington, was southbound on Highway 97 when it drifted off the southbound shoulder and lost control. The Jeep Cherokee returned to the highway and rolled multiple times, ejecting the right front passenger. The right front passenger, YASMIN ESMERALDA RIVERA, age 15 from Prosser, Washington, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Investigators at the scene determined she was not wearing safety restraints. RIVERA-CHAVEZ, AIMME MALDONADO, age 30, from Sunnyside Washington, and a three year old male juvenile, from Sunnyside Washington, were treated for minor injuries at the scene. RUTH PALOMARES, age 18, a two-month old female juvenile, and a one year old male juvenile, all from Yakima Washington, were transported by ground ambulance to Sky Lakes Medical Center in Klamath Falls for minor injuries. (OSP) troopers are continuing the investigation. All other occupants in the vehicle were wearing safety restraints or were in child safety seats. Fatigue is suspected to be a factor in the crash. (OSP) was assisted at the scene by Chiloquin Fire Department, Chiloquin Ambulance, and Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT). Highway 97 was reduced to a single northbound lane for about six hours while investigators were at the scene.
