Clackamas Co. Sheriff's Office - 09/26/13
At
approximately 10 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013, an Oregon State Police
trooper assigned to the Clackamas County Inter-agency Task Force (CCITF) stopped
a vehicle for a traffic infraction just off Interstate 5. This led to an arrest
and the seizure of 21 pounds of methamphetamine.
During the stop, the OSP trooper's cover officer was a Clackamas County Sheriff's Office K-9 team. The deputy's dog alerted on drugs in the suspect vehicle- a Ford Focus. Police investigated -- and discovered 21 pounds of meth in the vehicle.
The street value of the 21 pounds of methamphetamine is estimated at over half a million dollars.
This remarkable seizure marks the biggest meth bust in CCITF history.
Arrested in the incident was Omar Rodriguez, age 32 from Canby. He was booked on charges of Unlawful Distribution and Possession of Methamphetamine.
